We are within walking distance of the Museum of Dartmoor Life, Okehampton Castle, Simmons Park and Parklands Leisure Centre. Cycle Route 27 (the Granite Way) begins only 400 yards away and cycle hire can be arranged from the youth Hostel, 'adventureokehampton' where you can also book to go on their many outdoor activities while staying in the comfort of our guest house.

Okehamptons Dartmoor Railway is also here, where you can browse in the model shop, or have a drink and a snack. Jump on the train for a relaxing ride to Sampford Courteney, or Meldon Quarry to walk around the picturesque Meldon Reservoir.

Historic Okehampton Golf Club is a few hundred yards away and offers good deals for non members throughout the year.

Okehampton makes an ideal base for exploring Dartmoor and the rest of Devon as both the north and south coasts are less than an hours drive. It is also a convenient stopover for those of you en-route to Cornwall.
